Responsibilities

Under the direction of a Physician or Lead Physician, the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant collaborates with physicians to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patients in an outpatient clinic setting. Responsibilities include:

• Performing history and physical examinations on new and returning patients, establishing presumptive diagnoses, and ordering appropriate laboratory studies and testing
• Collaborating with physicians to formulate treatment plans and follow-up care
• Conducting comprehensive or episodic health assessments and developing patient care plans within clinical nursing practice and medical care protocols
• Reviewing and assessing patient medications
• Evaluating outcomes of care and initiating changes in the nursing approach as needed
• Triaging clinic patient calls and notifying physicians of needs, following up with patients per provider instructions
• Coordinating care for clinic patients
• Providing education and counseling to individuals and referring patients to other healthcare providers or community resources when appropriate

Qualifications

• Current Ohio Registered Nursing License (for Nurse Practitioners)
• Master’s degree in nursing and successful completion of an acceptable Nurse Practitioner education program or completion of a Physician Assistant Program
• Certification to include Prescriptive Authority
• Knowledge of triage procedures and experience in clinic, physician office, or urgent care settings
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
• Knowledge of procedures and standards for administering medications and patient care aids
• Strong communication skills to educate patients and families about disease management and treatment
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy
• Analytical and critical thinking abilities to gather, interpret data, and implement solutions

Pay

USD $105,799.52 – USD $168,339.16 per year.
