Admissions Information Specialist
Position Summary
The Admissions Information Specialist serves as the first point of contact for prospective students, parents, school counselors, and community partners. This individual provides exceptional customer service while communicating accurate information about Yeshiva University's admissions process, academic programs, and student experience. The Admissions Information Specialist plays a key role in guiding prospective students through the admissions process and ensuring a positive experience from initial inquiry through enrollment.
Position Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students, parents, school counselors, and advisors via phone, email, and in person, providing an excellent first impression of Yeshiva University.
- Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries regarding admissions requirements, application status, academic programs, campus life, financial aid, and enrollment processes.
- Review admissions materials for completeness and accuracy, including applications, transcripts, test scores, and supporting documentation. Proactively communicate with applicants regarding missing or incomplete materials.
- Cover prospective student appointments, interviews, campus tours, and virtual information sessions.
- Welcome and assist visitors to the Admissions Office while providing exceptional customer service.
- Aid with recruitment events, including Open Houses, Accepted Students Days, information sessions, and other admissions programs.
- Create, update, and distribute admissions materials, publications, and applicant communications.
- Aid with admissions-related communications, including email campaigns and social media content, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Experience & Education Background
Bachelor's degree required. One to three years of experience in admissions, higher education, customer service, student services, or a related field preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and enthusiastically in person and over the phone.
- Strong written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the Jewish community and Jewish day school networks preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, faculty, staff, and colleagues.
- Ability to communicate confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze information, identify solutions, and follow issues through to resolution.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn new software and technology platforms.
Salary Range
$66,300 - $66,300
