Position Summary
The Admissions Director is responsible for managing the admissions process, developing referral relationships, and ensuring a smooth transition for residents entering our facility. This role serves as a key liaison between hospitals, healthcare providers, residents, families, and our interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook up and oversee all admissions and referral activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, physicians, and community organizations.
- Evaluate referrals for clinical and financial appropriateness.
- Conduct facility tours for prospective residents and families.
- Facilitate a seamless admission process from referral through admission.
- Monitor census trends and implement strategies to achieve occupancy goals.
- Collaborate with clinical, business office, and leadership teams to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Participate in community outreach and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare admissions, marketing, case management, or skilled nursing preferred, minimum of 2 years experience.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and insurance authorization processes.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and admissions systems.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required based on experience.
