Admissions Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Admissions Director to lead and manage the admissions process for our skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full admissions and preadmissions process, including referrals, assessments, insurance verification, and documentation
• Serve as a key liaison with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and other referral sources
• Cook up closely with Central Intake and interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions into the facility
• Communicate with residents and families to explain the admissions process, answer questions, and provide tours
• Verify insurance coverage and authorizations (Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, private insurance)
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations
• Maintain accurate referral and admissions records in CRM/EHR systems
• Participate in marketing efforts, outreach initiatives, and community engagement
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, customer experience, and admissions outcomes

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare admissions, discharge planning, case management, or related customer-facing healthcare roles
• Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance processes
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines
