Admissions Director

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Admissions Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for referrals, admissions, and prospective residents. This role is critical in ensuring a seamless admission experience while supporting our facility's census growth and customer satisfaction goals.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries from hospitals, discharge planners, families, and referral sources.
• Coordinate and manage the admissions process from referral through admission.
• Conduct facility tours and provide information about services and care offerings.
• Maintain accurate bed availability and occupancy information.
• Process admission paperwork and verify payor source requirements.
• Communicate admission needs with nursing, housekeeping, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth resident transitions.
• Lead daily admissions discussions regarding admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Support census development and occupancy goals.
• Maintain referral tracking systems and waiting lists.
• Build strong relationships with referral partners and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of healthcare experience required; long-term care experience preferred.
• Previous admissions or business development experience in skilled nursing or healthcare settings is a plus.
• Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
