About the Role

Rappahannock Community College (RCC), founded in 1970, provides high-quality educational and training opportunities throughout a 12-county service region an hour east of Richmond on the beautiful western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. RCC seeks applicants for the Admissions and Records Technician position. This position is part-time without benefits and works 29 hours/week at our Warsaw campus. Reporting to the College Registrar, the Admissions and Records Technician provides assistance and information to current and prospective students, faculty, and staff, as well as supports the Registrar with daily operations at the campus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance and information to current and prospective students, faculty, and staff
  • Support the Registrar with daily operations at the campus
  • Admit students
  • Process and update student registration and records
  • Post grades
  • Prepare transfer evaluations
  • Provide transcript services
  • Assist the Registrar with graduation and dual enrollment
  • Assist with development of the academic calendar, admissions and records forms, and updates of policies and procedures
  • Use multiple assigned emails to assist students and faculty
  • Format and report data on the admissions and records processes
  • Interpret policy, resolve discrepancies, and exercise independent judgment and decision-making in the application of college and VCCS policies pertaining to domicile or residency status
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned
  • May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor

Required Qualifications

  • Proven interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks with competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to perform detailed work under pressure
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19 – $22 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Part-time, 29 hours/week at the Warsaw campus. Work schedule to be determined. Occasional travel between campuses may be required.
