Position Summary

Under the immediate direction and guidance of a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and approved Preceptor, incumbent is in training to complete the requirements of the State to become a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Incumbent generally is in Administrator-in-Training position for 6-12 months.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Aid in the preparation of the annual budget for facility.
  • Helps ensures compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, accreditation and reimbursement guidelines and standards.
  • Participates in recruiting, hiring, providing orientation/training, and retaining a sufficient number of qualified staff to carry out facility programs and services.
  • Makes sure facility is a safe, clean, comfortable, and appealing environment for residents, visitors, and staff in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Completes rotation/work assignments in each facility department as specified by the state AIT program.
  • Sure that all requirements of the AIT program are being met in a timely manner.
  • Completes/submits any status reports required by the States Board of Examiners/Administrators in a timely manner.
  • Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Required/Desired Qualifications

  • Education, Training, and Experience
  • Michigan Nursing Home Administrator License
  • Completion of all education levels, forms and other requirements as governed by state regulations.
  • Acceptance by the State Board of Examiners/Administrators to the AIT program.
