About the role

The Administrative Support Specialist for the Department of Psychology at Oklahoma State University provides administrative, financial, and operational support for the department. This position serves as a key point of contact for faculty, staff, and campus partners and helps ensure that departmental operations are accurate, timely, professional, and responsive.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative, financial, and operational support for the Department of Psychology.
  • Serves as a key point of contact for faculty, staff, and campus partners.
  • Maintains accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and responsiveness in departmental operations.

Requirements

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Admin Supp Spclt I: High school and 1 year of clerical/customer service experience.
  • Admin Supp Spclt II: High school and 2 years of clerical/customer service experience.
  • Admin Supp Spclt Sr: High school and 3 years of clerical/customer service experience.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to learn and follow university, college, and departmental policies and procedures related to financial, administrative, and student support processes.

Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge

  • Experience using administrative, financial, HR, or student information systems at OSU.
  • Experience with business operations, financial administration, customer service, or related functions preferred, particularly in a higher education or public-sector environment.
  • Experience working in an academic department, student-facing office, business office, or other complex administrative environment.

Pay

$13.50 - $20.00 Hourly

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
