Administrative Specialist Senior
Administrative Specialist Senior position within the Justice & Public Safety Cabinet, Department of Juvenile Justice. Full-time role (37.5 hours/week) eligible for overtime pay.

The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice is a multi-faceted agency serving juveniles of the Commonwealth. Responsibilities
- Provides professional support to the facility superintendent in developing, maintaining, and implementing complex programs and activities in a Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) facility.
- Gathers and compiles data, reports, and correspondence for executive and management staff for meetings and inquiries.
- Interprets rules, regulations, and policies to the facility superintendent and staff.
- Prepares and processes personnel action requests (e.g., performance evaluations, disciplinary actions) and maintains related documents and employee files.
- Assists with personnel issues, including worker’s compensation, EEO, ADA, insurance, and performance evaluations.
- Serves as facility timekeeper; maintains all time and attendance records and prepares timesheets for payroll entry.
- Responds to written and verbal inquiries.
- Assists with facility training files.
- Serves as backup to the fiscal manager in their absence.
- Attends required trainings and meetings.
Requirements
- Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
- Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.

- Additional education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Additional administrative, business, research, or clerical experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis.
Working Conditions
Primarily office-based environment.
Pay
Annual salary range: $39,284.88 - $58,927.20 (Pay Grade 13).
Schedule
37.5 hours per week. Initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months.
