About the role

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is seeking an Administrative Specialist Senior to provide professional support to the Project Delivery and Preservation I (PD&PI) Branch Manager in District 6 (Kenton County). This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining complex programs for Construction and Maintenance unit activities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and fiscally responsible transportation system that enhances Kentucky's quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional administrative support to the PD&PI Branch Manager.
  • Administer oversight for two Sections and three Maintenance Units within the PD&PI Branch by compiling and entering time, material, and equipment usage in the Kentucky Human Resource Information System (KHRIS) and Operations Management System (OMS).
  • Generate reports, organize timesheets, and manage leave forms.
  • Interpret and apply policies and regulations related to PD&PI Branch correspondence with internal and external customers.
  • Review complex documents for Section office and Maintenance Unit Supervisors.
  • Utilize Master Agreements to create delivery orders and rental agreements supporting Section office and Maintenance Unit activities.
  • Communicate with Section office and Maintenance Unit Supervisors regarding evaluations, travel reimbursements, and training requests.
  • Maintain confidential records, analyze data, develop reports, and provide budget and project status recommendations to the PD&PI Branch.
  • Utilize SiteManager and ProjectWise to review and organize records.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Substitute education for experience: Additional education may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Substitute experience for education: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis.
