About the role
This position serves as the Secretary's designee when needed, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of orders, agendas, and public notices. Our team will rely on you to oversee critical Commission operations such as public meetings, official records, and staff management while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Public Meeting Support: Attend Commission Public Meetings to record votes and ensure all cases are addressed; coordinate the creation and distribution of meeting minutes, agenda updates, public notices, and other meeting requirements
- Critical Document Review: Examine Commission Opinion and Orders, Decisions, Certificates of Public Convenience, and Secretarial letters to ensure proper and timely issuance; perform all Prothonotary’s functions in the Secretary’s absence
- Staff Supervision: Oversee the activities and employees of the Order Entry and Public Records and Service Section
- Process Evaluation: Review department and inter-bureau work, policies, and procedures to ensure conformity with legal requirements and Commission goals; identify strengths, challenges, potential improvements, and practical solutions
- Professional Communication: Answer questions and advise public utility officials, legislators, attorneys, and other interested parties on matters, procedures, practices, rules, and regulations regarding Public Meeting matters; promote good will and good public relations on the Secretary's and the Commission's behalf
Requirements
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Administrative Officer 1; or Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
