About the Role
Magna Exteriors develops industry-leading automotive technologies, including access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules, active aerodynamic systems, and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck, and industrial markets. As a member of this global team, you will contribute to the development of complex and unique cost estimates with supporting rationale for presentation to management and customers.
Responsibilities
- Direct and follow Decostar Industries health and safety policies to ensure a safe workplace for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Correct unsafe behaviors and reduce the possibility of employee injury due to hazardous conditions.
- Respond proactively to health and safety concerns, report accidents, incidents, or near misses within 24 hours, and complete required safety inspections.
- Ensure all employees under your guidance receive required safety training and avoid changes to equipment that may jeopardize safety.
- Interface with customers, management, and staff to meet customer needs in a timely and accurate manner.
- Review customer work statements and coordinate proposal input from departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.
- Provide administrative support for quote reviews, including scheduling, preparing, and reporting.
- Collect, organize, and analyze proposal input from relevant departments.
- Prepare cost estimates using Bills of Material, sketches, verbal descriptions, and customer specifications, including engineering design analysis.
- Research and analyze data from previous business awards to evaluate and adjust current estimates.
- Develop functional estimates for labor tasks and material requirements.
- Insert proposal details into customer quotation response formats, ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness.
- Maintain analysis of estimated versus actual costs.
- Coordinate the review and development of quote capital requirements with required departments.
- Input contract pricing information into Decostar’s data management system.
- Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, including value engineering.
- Support management reviews, customer audits, and proposal negotiations.
- Maintain control of all contractual documents, including specifications, contracts, proposals, and correspondence.
- Assist in preparing NAFTA/AALA/CO certification for customers.
- Update and maintain customer electronic change request management systems and electronic tool location tracking.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information and data transacted in daily responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of related cost estimation or sales administration experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Experience developing presentations for customers and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines and communicate deadlines effectively to others.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple large projects while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of injection molding, painting, and assembly in the automotive industry is preferred.
- Ability to travel as required by the position.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Finance.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or walk for up to eight (8) hours a day.

- Capability to perform repetitive motion at, above, and below shoulder height for up to six (6) hours a day.
Training
Ongoing training will be provided to perform job-specific tasks, including safety, quality, continuous improvement, and other essential areas aligned with Decostar’s business operations.
