About the role
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) seeks dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time Jewish Studies Instructor positions for the 2025-2026 Academic School Year. This posting aims to create a pool of qualified applicants for future openings at LACCD's nine colleges.
Responsibilities
- Teach any of the Jewish Studies classes offered, promoting engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
- Collaborate, communicate, and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
- Engage in culturally responsive interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
- Teach courses in Hebrew (Modern) if applicable.
- Experience teaching in a multicultural academic setting.
- Familiarity with both traditional and contemporary Jewish texts and thought.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Jewish Studies, OR
- Bachelor's degree in Jewish Studies and AND a Master's degree in Philosophy, History, Humanities, Religious Studies or any Ethnic Studies discipline;
- The equivalent;
- A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Benefits
Compensation for adjunct instructors is $89.72 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.

Schedule
Faculty may be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas or other methods of remote learning. Applicants with demonstrated certification in Blackboard, Canvas or Course Compass or other online modalities may be given preference.

- If invited to interview, candidate should be prepared to provide official Copies of transcripts from undergraduate and graduate school (Official transcripts are required for all candidates invited to the final interview).
General Requirements
- Health: A medical certificate indicating fitness to instruct or associate with students is required at the applicant's expense after selection from an eligible list and prior to employment.
- Covid 19 Vaccination: Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated.
- LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees' policy.
- Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date.
