About the role
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time Family and Consumer Studies Instructor positions for the 2026 Academic School Year. These positions aim to engage and educate students in a range of courses within the Family and Consumer Studies/Dietetics discipline.
Responsibilities
- Teach a range of courses within the Family and Consumer Studies/Dietetics discipline.
- Create engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
- Collaborate, communicate, and work professionally with students, staff, faculty, and administrators.
- Be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Requirements
- Master's in family and consumer studies, life management/home economics or home economics education; OR
- Bachelor's in any of the above, AND Master's in child development, early childhood education, human development, gerontology, fashion, clothing and textiles, housing/interior design, foods/nutrition or dietetics and food administration; OR
- The equivalent.
Qualifications
- Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Family and Consumer Studies/Dietetics Department members at one or more of LACCD's 9 colleges.
- Final determination of part-time Family and Consumer Studies Instructor assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Benefits
Compensation for adjunct instructors starts at $89.72 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.

Adjunct instructors' salaries are based on the LACCD salary schedule, starting at $89.72 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments.

Part-time assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.
