ADC Engineer I, AWS ADC Storage Services

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems. In this role, you will join a team of highly talented engineers operating Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), Amazon FSx, Amazon S3 on Outposts, and Amazon MQ services that host some of our customers’ most sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Join a team of engineers operating Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), Amazon FSx, Amazon S3 on Outposts, and Amazon MQ services that host some of our customers’ most sensitive data.
• Take part and be responsible for building exciting new features for these services - further enabling our customers’ mission.
• Work with Amazon's largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services.
• Dive deep into technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience.
• Manage and monitor systems health and status.
• Provision devices, assist with data ingestion, and device cleaning.
• Troubleshoot device, network, and/or configuration related issues.
• Identify, document, and communicate engineering and operations recommendations to team members.
• Write and disseminate after action reports capturing key events, actions taken, and future mitigation plans.
• Provide on-call support.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
• 1+ years of Linux systems administration and/or development experience
• 1+ years of technical support experience
• 1+ years of networking and troubleshooting experience
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems at scale
• Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services
• Experience with systems administration on either Linux/UNIX or Windows operating systems

Skills

• Focus on troubleshooting complex system operations, not just on a server level but enterprise wide
• Strong foundation in multiple operating systems, networking, and general knowledge of cloud services
