Acute Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner

About the role

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the Hospital at Night Department. The role is permanent and involves a 36-hour day-night rotation.

Responsibilities

• Integrate into the Acute Care Advanced Practice team, working across medical and surgical boundaries.
• Initiate investigations and formulate management plans for acutely unwell adults.
• Undertake appropriate first-line interventions.
• Support the management of patients within the Acute Care Advanced Practice service.
• Rotate through both Acute Hospital @ Night areas at University Hospital Ayr and Crosshouse, as well as Woodland View/Ayrshire Central Hospital and Biggart Hospital.

Requirements

• Current NMC registration with a degree-level nursing qualification.
• Extensive post-registration experience within an acute environment.
• Knowledge of caring for acutely unwell adults.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and the ability to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice.
• Experience in developing and delivering innovative solutions to underpin service delivery.

Qualifications

• A Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice, including a nurse independent prescribing qualification is desirable.
• If not currently held, the successful candidate will be supported to undertake academic study towards the above post graduate qualifications.

• Ability to manage complex patient cases effectively.
• Proficient in advanced life support techniques.

Pay

The starting salary for this role is £44,800 per annum, pro-rata for part-time positions.

Schedule

This is a 36-hour day-night rotation role.
