Active Adult Coordinator

Join the Midlothian Family YMCA as a part-time Active Adult Facilitator and help build relationships while delivering Aging Well programs and activities.

About the role

Work with the director and regional coordinator to plan, deliver, and track activities for older adults. This role is a positive role model focused on fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up rooms and maintain program paperwork
• Purchase supplies and manage department expenditures within budget
• Advertise events and programs; maintain program bulletin board
• Contribute to association newsletters
• Attend leadership team or advisory council meetings as needed
• Assist in developing and managing the associated budget
• Engage professionally with participants and staff
• Promote the Y’s commitment to access, inclusion, and engagement for all

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry up to 25 lbs
• Ability to set up equipment and arrange rooms for programs
• Two years of relevant work experience (preferably with older adults and youth/families)
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications

Pay

$15–$16 per hour
