Acholi Interpreter

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring interpreters to work remotely from their homes. The company offers a competitive pay rate and provides extensive training. The ideal candidate will have fluency in Acholi and English, along with cultural competency.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established protocols.
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and enunciation.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions.
• Understand and follow protocol and terminology for various industries.
• Provide cultural sensitivity and handle sensitive topics with professionalism.
• Adapt to any LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery.

Requirements

• Fluency in Acholi and English.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to concentrate and remain neutral during interpreting sessions.
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write both languages preferred.

Qualifications

• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be able to adapt to LLS technology enhancements.
• Must have access to a quiet space and a reliable high-speed internet connection.
• Must be able to operate a keyboard and mouse for long periods.

Skills

• Fluency in Acholi and English.
• Cultural competency and understanding of regional and accent differences.
• Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive topics.

Pay

$0.80 - $0.95 per minute.

Schedule

This is a remote position where interpreters work from their own home offices. Punctuality and availability during work hours are essential.
