LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Sylheti-English phone interpreter to work remotely from home. The position offers flexible work from home options, with no commute required.
Responsibilities
- Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally
- Render accurate and concise interpretations between Sylheti and English speakers
- Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during emergencies
- Adapt to various industries and sensitive topics
- Ensure confidentiality and follow client instructions
- Provide cultural competency and sensitivity
Requirements
- Fluency in Sylheti and English
- Cultural competency and regional accent awareness
- Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
- Ability to handle emotionally charged and stressful calls
- Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred
- Adaptable to LLS technology enhancements
- At least 18 years old
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and write both languages preferred
Qualifications
- Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship
- Pre-employment background check and drug screen may be required based on location
- Access to a quiet space and a reliable internet connection
- Physical requirements for operating a keyboard and mouse
