About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Sylheti-English phone interpreter to work remotely from home. The position offers flexible work from home options, with no commute required.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally
• Render accurate and concise interpretations between Sylheti and English speakers
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during emergencies
• Adapt to various industries and sensitive topics
• Ensure confidentiality and follow client instructions
• Provide cultural competency and sensitivity

Requirements

• Fluency in Sylheti and English
• Cultural competency and regional accent awareness
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
• Ability to handle emotionally charged and stressful calls
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred
• Adaptable to LLS technology enhancements
• At least 18 years old
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write both languages preferred

Qualifications

• Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen may be required based on location
• Access to a quiet space and a reliable internet connection
• Physical requirements for operating a keyboard and mouse

Pay
