About the role
The Accounts Receivable Clerk plays a crucial role in the Accounting Department, supporting the company's financial health and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process all accounts receivable transactions
- Ensure proper reconciliation of all customer payments
- Maintain all accounting records according to established guidelines
- Enter invoices to customer portals
- Process customer payments through Accounts Receivable software (High Radius)
- Process customer credit card payments
- Maintain spreadsheet records including monthly workpaper summaries and receivable statistics
- Assist with processing invoice batches for distribution to customers
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding open invoices, payments, or account status
- Support collections for overdue and delinquent customer accounts
- Perform any assigned financial, administrative, or clerical tasks as directed by the Controller and Supervisor of Accounting
- Maintain financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls
- File accounting documents to maintain financial historical records
- Communicate and showcase Shingle & Gibb Core Values, policies, and procedures throughout the organization
Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
- 1-3 years of general accounting experience
- Knowledge of Accounts Receivables procedures
- Technology fluency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Proficient in data entry and management
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Problem-solving skills
- Teamwork and customer/client focus
- Good communication skills
Qualifications
- Education: High School Degree or equivalent
- Experience: 1-3 years of general accounting experience
- Skills: Knowledge of Accounts Receivables procedures, technology fluency in Microsoft Office Products, proficient in data entry and management, attention to detail, high level of accuracy, problem-solving, teamwork, customer/client focus, good communication skills

Commute
As a member of the Accounting Department, the Accounts Receivable Clerk works from the Shingle location in Newtown, CT. Most work is completed in an office setting with a workspace provided, including a computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinets, and fax machines. If assigned tasks require, they may be performed outside the normal workspace to ensure complete confidentiality.
