Accounts Payable Specialist

Responsibilities

• Review and enter check requests with accuracy, ensuring payment details are recorded correctly in the designated system.
• Prepare and process check payments, including generating checks and organizing them for timely distribution.
• Cook up outgoing payments by assembling mail-ready check packages and confirming proper delivery preparation.
• Apply appropriate account coding to invoices and payment requests to support accurate financial tracking.
• Manage data entry related to accounts payable transactions while maintaining organized and complete records.
• Sustain ACH payment activity and assist with routine payment runs according to established schedules.
• Work within Spectra to update payable information and maintain consistency across transaction records.
• Help sustain smooth accounts payable operations during the contract period by following internal procedures and meeting deadlines.

Requirements

• Experience in accounts payable, including invoice handling and payment processing.
• Working knowledge of account coding and the ability to assign financial information accurately.
• Familiarity with check runs, check preparation, and mailing procedures.
• Experience processing ACH transactions with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with data entry and maintaining a high level of accuracy in financial records.
• Exposure to Spectra or similar accounts payable systems is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Relevant work experience in accounts payable is required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with general ledger systems is beneficial.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $30.00 - $40.00 per hour.
