Accounting & Payroll Coordinator
About This Role
This position supports the overall mission and vision of the Child Care Action Council (CCAC). Primary duties include processing semi-monthly payroll and entering accounts payable and other accounting transactions into the accounting records. This position also provides office administration and support functions for the organization.
What You'll Do
- Maintain employee records and ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Monitor and approve employee hours, overtime, and submit necessary forms.
- Process and export payroll files, record benefits and taxes, and make journal entries in QuickBooks.
- Enter and code invoices, process checks, and reconcile credit card accounts.
- Manage inventory, file personal property taxes, and purchase equipment as needed.
- Handle reimbursement requests and assist with bank deposits.
- Support scheduling and travel arrangements for CCAC staff.
- Provide basic office support, including word processing, data entry, and communication tasks.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance & Admin Operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in bookkeeping and/or payroll processing.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills including E-mail, Excel, Word.
- Ability to operate office machines and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience organizing large amounts of data information.
- Demonstrated commitment to cultural relevancy, diversity, and inclusion.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively.
- Experience working both in a team setting and independently.
- Experience meeting weekly and monthly project goals.
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Pass a criminal background check.

- Associate of Arts degree (AA or AAS) in Business.
