About the role
The Accounting Leadership Development Associate (ALDA) combines Parker’s Leader Development Program (LDP) with the duties of an entry-level accountant. Over a two-year rotation, the ALDA will gain hands-on leadership experience while providing accurate accounting data and financial analysis to support decision-making. Rotational assignments expose participants to coaching, mentoring, and diverse business divisions nationwide, with geographic flexibility and relocation required.
This is an onsite role without direct reports, involving collaboration with operational units, corporate staff, and third parties to ensure compliance with accounting policies and controls.
Program Details
- Duration: 2 years
- Structure: 4 rotational assignments (6 months each)
- Relocation required; geographic flexibility is mandatory
Responsibilities
- Monthly closing, journal entries, and correspondence with divisions/third parties
- Monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and analysis
- Interaction with accounts payable to ensure proper auditing and accounting controls
- Budget review, analysis, and financial planning for operating groups/corporate departments
- Accounting and auditing of Parker catalog services charges and allocations
- Coordination of annual supplemental W-2 process for relocated employees
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial report preparation
- Financial analysis of operating groups and monitoring orders/shipments
- Special projects (e.g., presentations for operations managers, board meetings)
- Year-end analysis book preparation
- Leadership development activities and process improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
- Proficiency in SAP Finance, Power BI, or Alteryx is a plus
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR/EAR compliance)
Travel and relocation are required, including visits to Parker’s corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio.
Pay
Pay Range: $60,600–$115,000 annually (varies by experience, qualifications, and location).
