Accounting Clerk

About the role

Stew Hansen Dodge City, a Ken Garff Automotive Dealership, is seeking an Accounting Clerk who aligns with our core values of respect, integrity, growth, humility, and teamwork. This position is based in our Centralized Accounting office in Clive, IA.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Accounting for vehicle sales and purchases
• General ledger reconciling of schedules
• Computer postings and other miscellaneous accounting duties
• Send daily report of total deals outstanding to management
• Daily review of relevant accounting schedules
• Review incentives to ensure compliance with factory program standards
• Review and maintain incentive schedule
• Call factory hotline as necessary to process claims
• Submit weekly report on schedules with notes on outstanding items
• Maintain organized filing system for all deals and paperwork
• Provide backup to other staff as necessary and as assigned

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of dealership accounting experience is a plus
• Knowledge of dealership software and Excel spreadsheets is a plus
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products, general computer use, and calculator
• High school diploma or equivalent
