Agency BBDO Job Function Account Management and Growth Job Subfunction Account Management Job Description The Role The successful Account Supervisor (AS) at BBDO New York drives the development of advertising and/or marketing activities with a full understanding of the client’s goals and budget. The AS must possess a solid base of knowledge of industry best practices as well as agency practices and operations. The AS is the Account Director’s go-to driver of tasks, helping either in concert or independently to accomplish the work BBDO New York is executing throughout all agency departments on behalf of the client. The Account Supervisor is responsible for managing, coordinating, and leading agency resources to meet the integrated marketing communication needs of assigned accounts. This position is often the primary day-to-day interface with mid-level client decision-makers and, with the Account Director, instrumental to the client’s success with the agency. Key Activities Support and guide day-to-day client business operations for developing and executing complex marketing programs in partnership with internal and external team membersEnsure quality control and flawless execution of all agency deliverables by reviewing agency products, including creative work, financial analyses, key client communications, key schedules, creative strategies, and strategic POVsPartner with strategy to write creative briefs for larger projectsMaintain strong relationships with all levels of client management In sum, the standard of performance for the AS is excellence in driving work forward, as well as a beginning aptitude in delivering strategic input. The AS reports to the Account Director. Responsibilities Act as primary contact for appropriate client matchDevelop knowledge of client’s business, competitive challenges, and how key strategic issues could impact client/agency objectivesFunction as an informational source of the client’s business for all team membersWith support of the AD, lead the marketing planning process and work to develop marketing plans and other relevant materialsLead meetings (internal/client) and deliver presentations for creative work, marketing plans and programs clearly, effectively and confidentlyDemonstrate understanding of integrated marketing campaign management, production processes and reportingUnderstand multiple marketing disciplines, and be especially fluent in digital, social and new mediaProvide effective/timely communications to agency staff, clients, and partner agencies through conference reports, emails, etc.Develop, or supervise Account Executive’s development of, tactical briefs based on client/agency input and present briefs to creative team and other agency departments involved in the project’s developmentLearn how to analyze campaign results, draw conclusions and proactively make recommendations to optimize the client’s programEvaluate copy, layout/artwork, media plans and production materials against approved briefs and make recommendations as appropriate prior to concepts being presented to clientsProvide strategic direction and client feedback to creative teamIdentify new opportunities within existing accounts and/or with complementary businesses to recommend and sell additional agency services and bring to the attention of Account Director or managementSupport Account Executive(s) in managing finances for the account including: estimates, billing, vendor invoices and bi-monthly reconciliationPartner with the Account Executive(s) and Project Management to confirm that projects in the pipeline are progressing according to client expectations and, if project delays or cost/time overages are suspected, proactively address the situation with the manager or clientNurture the career development of direct reports by providing meaningful growth and development plansProvide leadership, motivate internal teams, and forge strong relationships between all agency departmentsLiaise with peers at client partner agencies to manage process effectively and resolve conflict as neededKeep supervisor and management fully informed of account challenges and opportunities Agency Engagement Active participant in positive agency cultureEnergetic volunteer to jump in on new businessForge strong cross-agency relationships; help train new team members in agency proceduresBe proactive – understand the big picture as well as the details, and contribute suggestions, new ideas, procedure recommendations, etc. to team and agency managementParticipate in new business opportunities, including coordinating resources and organizing pitch teams Qualifications Bachelor’s degree3-6 years’ relevant experienceDigital and social media experience preferredSolid knowledge of integrated marketing within an agency account management environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills in a client-facing environmentSound analytical skillsExcellent interpersonal skills The Office Requirements BBDO has adopted a hybrid working environment. It is required for employees to be in the office Tuesday-Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday. 110,000-130,000 Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager.
