Position Summary

Catalent Pharma Solutions is recruiting for an Account Executive, Rx Pharmaceutical Softgel and Late-Stage Oral Solids. This position will be field-based and will be responsible for covering either a specific geography or a portfolio of accounts. As an Account Executive, you will join our dynamic Business Development Team, and your primary role is to evaluate and assess contract development and manufacturing opportunities with Rx pharmaceutical customers. The Business Development function is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing new development, tech transfer, and commercial supply business for Rx softgel and late-stage oral solid products with new customers, and for managing business relationships and growing business with existing customers.

Location & Travel

Field Based Role. Up to 75% travel, preferred residence in Texas or Colorado. Must be willing and able to travel up to 75% to visit as well as meet with Catalent's manufacturing facilities in Winchester, Kentucky and St. Petersburg, Florida (and other international locations as needed).

The Role

  • Drive business development for Rx softgel and late-stage oral solids programs by identifying, qualifying, and closing opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
  • Build strategic relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, uncover customer needs, and align solutions to support development and commercialization objectives.
  • Develop and execute account plans, managing forecasting, pricing, contract negotiations, renewals, amendments, and periodic business reviews to maximize portfolio growth.
  • Collaborate with Research & Development, Contract Management, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to prepare proposals, negotiate development and commercial supply agreements, and ensure customer success.
  • Present Catalent's capabilities and value proposition to customers, global account teams, and technical stakeholders, effectively demonstrating differentiated solutions and proof of value.
  • Expand revenue through cross-selling, innovative solution development, and identification of new opportunities across Catalent's broader service portfolio.
  • Analyze customer pipelines, Research & Development activities, sales trends, and market opportunities to support territory planning, revenue growth, and strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional communication and utilize Customer Relationship Management tools to ensure accurate account management, responsive customer support, and seamless execution of commercial activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in a Scientific discipline, Business, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of combined business development or sales and scientific or technical experience in the pharmaceutical contract service sales (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization), pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industries.
  • Experience or understanding of the proposal development process, business quotes, budgeting, and managing to defined timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • The ability to work effectively as a member of cross-functional teams and interact effectively with scientists and technical staff from customers and within the Catalent organization.
  • A proven track record with new account penetration.
  • Proven ability to organize and plan work, manage travel, and balance multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Skills & Background

  • Master's degree, Master of Business Administration, or Doctor of Philosophy.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com.
  • A thorough understanding of Rx softgel or oral solid-dose manufacturing is a plus.
