Account Executive

About the role
The Sales Account Executive is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and growing market share in the territory by expanding sales of existing customers and developing new business opportunities. This role involves staying current on market conditions, anticipating changes, and orchestrating resources to meet customer needs. The position serves as a gateway to Sun Chemical’s market-leading technology for inks, coatings, consumables, and next-generation sustainable products.
Responsibilities
- Conduct all sales activities for assigned accounts.
- Develop a consultative, value-added strategy to optimize growth opportunities within the territory.
- Collaborate with internal resources, including Manufacturing, Product Management, Technical Service, Regulatory, and Customer Service, to provide the highest standard of service.
- Function as a liaison for Sun Chemical’s technology portfolio, including inks, coatings, consumables, and sustainable products.
- Understand the Customers’ Operating Reality and provide Voice of the Customer feedback to Sun Chemical.
- Develop and maintain account-level strategies, identifying key buying factors, stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers.
- Create value propositions tailored to each customer’s needs.
- Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to develop volume, revenue, and margin targets and strategize how to meet them.
- Recognize and address competitive threats and opportunities, protecting the existing customer base while capturing new business.
- Manage day-to-day territory needs through in-person and remote customer interactions.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree required; MBA preferred.
- 8-10 years of successful sales or technical sales experience, preferably in printing ink, flexible packaging, or coatings. Chemical Distribution Sales experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to sell at the C-Suite level with a track record of year-over-year sales growth.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, or other CRM software.
- Demonstrated success in closing high-volume new account sales.
- Ability to manage large and complex independent account locations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
Schedule
- 60% travel (local and regional) with occasional nights and weekends based on customer needs.
Pay
Total target compensation ranges from $110,000 to $135,000, combining a competitive base salary with uncapped commission potential. This role is eligible for a company vehicle.

Work location: Southeast Region. Candidates residing in the Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC metro areas are strongly preferred.
