About the role
The Account Executive discovers opportunities, maintains the company and contact database, and provides engineering and manufacturing solutions to customers.
- Contact and meet regularly with current and prospective customers to develop and maintain relationships
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, and market research
- Travel required 25–50% of the time
- Enter, review, and update company and contact information
- Prepare lists of prospective customers and research current market information
- Understand and review drawings, 3D models, and bills of material for quoting projects
- Prepare estimates in Excel tailored to customer needs
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing departments to ensure accurate quotes and project handoffs
- Consult with department leads on customer-required specifications
- Prepare exhibitor lists, attend, and represent the company at trade shows
- Report weekly on open opportunities, proposals, and obstacles to sales
- Maintain proficiency in manufacturing and engineering terminology
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
- Technologically adept with smart devices
- Analytical skills to track account performance and make data-driven decisions
- Knowledge of machinery, equipment, or materials, or a combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge
