Five (5) full-time, 11-month academic professional track (non-tenure) positions with anticipated start dates in Fall 2027. Applications will be accepted at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, and Clinical Professor, commensurate with qualifications.

About the role

The primary academic responsibility will be the education and teaching of family medicine residents and medical students as an ABFM/AOBFM certified core faculty member of a family medicine residency. Faculty will educate students and residents in both bedside and didactic classroom settings.

The secondary academic responsibility is service, serving as a role model for future physicians while maintaining an active primary care clinical practice.

Faculty will also be required to produce two scholarly projects on average over five years.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical doctorate degree (e.g., MBBS, MBChB, etc.)
  • Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP), or eligible to obtain certification within 12 months of hire
  • Demonstration of ongoing learning activities equivalent to the ABFM or AOBFP Maintenance of Certification process
  • Current Texas medical license or eligible to obtain licensure in Texas

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Medical student and/or resident teaching experience
