Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure): Open Rank - Clinical - Family Medicine

Highly reputable Shannon Health and Texas A&M University School of Medicine invite applications for up to five (5) full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) positions with an 11-month appointment beginning Spring 2023. The rank of the appointment (Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor) will be determined by the candidate's credentials.

About the Role

Successful candidates will be appointed a faculty position within the Academic Department of Primary Care & Population Health. These positions require individuals with strong academic, clinical, and leadership acumen to educate and lead in the development of the next generation of family medicine physicians.

• Primary responsibility: education and teaching of family medicine residents and medical students in both bedside and classroom settings.
• Produce on average two (2) scholarly works every five (5) years.
• Secondary responsibility: service as a role model for future physicians while maintaining an active inpatient and/or outpatient clinical practice.

The successful candidate will receive a Clinical Assistant/Associate/Professor, non-tenure Academic Professional Track (APT) title based on experience.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Residency trained.
• Current license from the Texas Medical Board or eligible for licensure in the state of Texas.
• Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) or board eligible.
• Must demonstrate ongoing learning activities equivalent to the ABFM or AOBFP Maintenance of Certification process.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: inpatient hospital medicine, inpatient/outpatient pediatrics, and obstetrics.
