Anticipated start date: Fall 2027. Applications accepted at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, and Clinical Professor, commensurate with qualifications. 11-month, full-time academic professional track (non-tenure) position.

About the role

The incumbent’s primary academic responsibility will be the education and teaching of family medicine residents and medical students. As an ABFM/AOBFM-certified core faculty member of a family medicine residency, the faculty member will educate students and residents in both bedside and didactic classroom settings.

The secondary academic responsibility will be service, serving as a role model for future physicians while maintaining an active primary care clinical practice.

The faculty member will also be required to produce two scholarly projects on average over five years.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical doctorate degree (e.g., MBBS, MBChB)
  • Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP)
  • Demonstration of ongoing learning activities equivalent to the ABFM or AOBFP Maintenance of Certification process
  • Current Texas medical license or eligible to obtain licensure in Texas
  • Three or more years of documented leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical student and/or resident teaching experience
