About the role

The Smeal College of Business seeks an experienced Academic Adviser to work in a fast-paced, high energy academic environment. Extensive knowledge of university policy and procedures that apply to the matriculation and the academic, personal, and professional development of undergraduate students is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic advising to undergraduate students; guide students in course selection and scheduling; resolve academic problems; monitor academic progress;
  • Assess other student needs and make professional referrals;
  • Interpret university policies, procedures and curriculum to students and faculty in the college;
  • Contribute to advising committees and/or working groups related to areas that may include student success, inclusivity, assessment and evaluation, academic policies and/or staff development.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Required Certifications: None

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Commitment to honor and integrity;
  • Sensitivity to the needs of others;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Effective knowledge of computer applications,
  • Efficiently manage time, balance multiple responsibilities, and adapt to change.

Pay

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $49,188.00 - $71,340.00.

Schedule

The position requires interaction with students, parents, faculty, and various college staff members and may require occasional weekend and evening hours.
