This open position is in a highly behavioral residential home setting.

About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. Support needs include, but are not limited to:

• Household maintenance
• Meal preparation
• Shopping
• Bathing, toileting, dressing, and teeth brushing
• Assisting with medical appointments and banking
• Supporting community integration and attending outings
• Administering medications
• Following Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and goals
• Adhering to medical guidelines
• Safely evacuating individuals from the home in emergencies

DSP workers must maintain certifications, handle job-related duties in compliance with agency policies, and follow all DDS regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives
• Varied interests and personal connections in the local community
• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer, or school history)
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team
• Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working in a residential setting with highly behavioral individuals
• Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English

Pay

$17.50–$19.00 per hour (includes paid training).

Schedule

Part-time: 24 hours per week, Thursday–Saturday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.
