6011-09 Direct Support Professional

About the role

Part-time position on Saturday 11 p.m.–7 a.m. (8 hours).

Pay

$17.50–$19.00 per hour.

Sign-on Bonus

• Part-time employees receive a $500 sign-on bonus (residential direct care only).
• $100 paid at 6 weeks.
• $100 paid at 90 days.
• $300 paid at 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for and support adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, banking, community outings.
• Administer medications and follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and medical guidelines.
• Participate in paid training: New Employee Orientation, CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, Medication Administration Program (MAP), plus program- and person-specific training.
• Safely evacuate individuals from the home in an emergency.
• Maintain certifications and comply with Agency policies and DDS regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Daily use of a car on site preferred (not required).
• Available by telephone for daily contact.
• Age 21+ with reliable transportation.
