6011-04 Direct Support Professional

Part-time position with a schedule of Sunday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and Saturday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, totaling 16 hours per week.

About the Role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) advocates and supports adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to be as active in their lives as possible. Support includes household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, personal care (bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing), and assistance with medical appointments, banking, and community activities. DSPs also administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, goals, and medical guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities (household tasks, meal prep, personal hygiene).
• Support community participation, including outings and appointments.
• Administer medications and follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans.
• Ensure compliance with Agency policies and DDS regulations.
• Safely evacuate individuals from the home in emergencies.
• Maintain required certifications (CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, MAP).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (daily use of a car preferred but not required).
• Must be 21 or older.
• Commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities in community participation.
• Proven record of responsible behavior (work, volunteer, or school history).
• Ability to work creatively and collaboratively as part of a team.

Pay

$17.50–$19.00 per hour. Paid training provided by Venture.
