About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) advocates and supports adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to participate fully in daily life and the community. The DSP assists with household tasks, personal care, medical appointments, banking, community outings, medication administration, and follows individualized support and behavior plans.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc.
• Assist individuals to medical appointments, banking, and community outings.
• Administer medications and follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and goals.
• Follow medical guidelines and agency policies.
• Ensure safe evacuation of individuals in emergencies.
• Maintain required certifications and comply with DDS regulations.

• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer, or school history).
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated team member.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid driver’s license; daily use of a car on site preferred but not required.
• Available by telephone for daily contact.
• Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

$17.50‑$19.00 per hour
