Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of warehouse/production associates, operators, and material handlers.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, provide coaching/mentoring, handle discipline, and conduct performance reviews.
- Ensure proper staffing and cross-training.
- Oversee daily stamping warehouse activities — receiving materials, stamping/production processes, inventory storage/putting-away, picking, staging, and shipping.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and throughput goals are met.
- Troubleshoot issues (e.g., equipment downtime, material shortages) to minimize disruptions.
- Enforce safety protocols, conduct safety audits/talks, and maintain a safe work environment (critical on night shifts).
- Ensure adherence to company policies, GMPs, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA).
- Report incidents and promote a safety-first culture.
- Maintain product quality from stamping processes, conduct inspections, address defects, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure standards are met.
- Manage inventory levels, coordinate material flow, perform cycle counts, and ensure accurate tracking.
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflows for efficiency.
- Report shift performance, issues, and metrics to daytime management.
- Facilitate handoffs between shifts.
- Use systems for production tracking, inventory, and scheduling.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize processes.
- Support lean manufacturing or similar initiatives.
- Handle scheduling, timekeeping, training documentation, and basic HR functions (e.g., attendance).
- Manage equipment maintenance coordination.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in manufacturing/warehouse leadership, preferably in stamping, metal fabrication, or automotive.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, production processes, and inventory management.
- Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on nights with minimal oversight.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), basic computer skills, and sometimes ERP software.
- Physical ability to work in a warehouse environment (standing, lifting, etc.).
