2027 Spark Summer Intern - Civil/Environmental/Construction/Geotechnical Engineering

About the role

S&ME’s 2027 Spark Summer Internship Program is open to current students from a variety of educational backgrounds and career focus. Internship opportunities are available across multiple service lines, including Civil Engineering, Construction Services and Materials Testing, Environmental Services and Industrial Hygiene, Geotechnical Engineering, and Transportation Design-Build. As part of the program, you will work alongside experienced professional and technical employee-owners within your area of interest, participate in an intern cohort, and learn about all aspects of S&ME. The internship provides hands-on experience, access to technical experts across the company, and professional development to help transition from campus to career.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced professional and technical employee-owners in your area of interest
• Participate in an intern cohort and learn about all aspects of S&ME
• Engage in hands-on project work and field assignments as applicable

Requirements

• Enrolled in a related degree program
• Rising Juniors, Seniors, or Graduate students preferred
• Related experience and/or campus, community, or work-related leadership experience preferred
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for technical roles
• Routine lifting may be required: 40 to 50 lbs
• Out-of-town travel may be required
