About the role

The Special Education Instructional Facilitator (SEIF) is responsible for providing support to special education teachers and students within the designated school.

Responsibilities

  • Supports teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies for students with diverse needs.
  • Mentors and coaches special education teachers to enhance their instructional practices.
  • Collaborates with other special education staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Assists in the assessment and monitoring of student progress towards IEP goals.
  • Participates in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Requirements

  • Must be in the SEIF pool.
  • Valid teaching license from the Nevada Department of Education.
  • Certified in relevant subject area.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • At least two years of successful teaching experience in special education.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in using technology to support instruction and data collection.
