2026 - 2027 School Year - School Counselor

About the role

Greenbrier High School is seeking a certified school counselor to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have a certification in grades 7-12 and a focus on preK-12 counseling.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services to students
• Develop and implement counseling programs to support student academic success and social/emotional development
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to address student needs
• Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives aimed at promoting positive school culture and climate
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of counseling sessions and interventions

Requirements

• Master's degree in counseling or related field
• Current teaching certification in grades 7-12
• Experience working with adolescents and families
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Knowledge of adolescent development and learning theories
• Experience with data-driven decision making
• Proficiency in using counseling software and databases

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
