Program: Social/Emotional Teaching and Reinforcement (STAR)

About the role

This position is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with social/emotional needs in a self-contained classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs
• Provide direct teaching and reinforcement of social/emotional skills
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and school staff to support student success
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction as necessary
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid Colorado teaching license with special education endorsement
• At least two years of successful teaching experience in a special education setting
• Experience working with students with social/emotional needs

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people
• Knowledge of current best practices in special education

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
