About the role

The Social/Emotional Teaching and Reinforcement (STAR) program at LAS VEGAS-MANCH, J.E. ES is seeking an experienced teacher to provide specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and a passion for social and emotional learning.

Responsibilities

  • Implement evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies to support student growth and development.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, special education teachers, school counselors, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Provide small group and one-on-one interventions to address students' social and emotional needs.
  • Assess students' progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities related to social-emotional learning and special education best practices.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • A valid teaching license/credential.
  • Experience working with students with social and emotional challenges.
  • Knowledge of social-emotional learning frameworks and theories.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse student population.

Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience, including teaching, counseling, or related fields.
  • Experience with data-driven decision making and assessment tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of federal and state special education laws and regulations.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
