About the role

The Special Education Generalist Self-Contained position at THE TRANSFORMATION NETWORK is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting. The role requires a deep understanding of special education principles and practices, as well as strong communication skills to collaborate with families, other educators, and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs and goals.
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students in a self-contained classroom.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, school psychologists, and parents to develop and implement effective educational programs.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of special education best practices.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in special education or related field from an accredited institution.
• A current teaching license in special education or related field.
• At least two years of successful teaching experience in a special education setting.
• Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disorders.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using technology tools for lesson planning and assessment.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
