About the role

This position is for a Special Education Generalist Self-Contained teacher at Henderson-Liberty HS and Liberty HS.

Responsibilities

• Teach students with disabilities in self-contained classrooms.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, school psychologists, counselors, and administrators.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Participate in IEP meetings and other professional development activities.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• A valid teaching certificate in Special Education.
• At least two years of full-time teaching experience in a special education setting.
• Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders, emotional disturbances, or other significant disabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in using assistive technology and accommodations.

Skills

• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Experience with data collection and analysis.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
