About the role

Elementary School Counselor position supporting students in a Title I school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group counseling to address academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Implement a comprehensive school-counseling program aligned with ASCA National Model.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Conduct classroom guidance lessons on topics such as conflict resolution, bullying prevention, and college/career awareness.
• Coordinate and facilitate 504 plans, behavior intervention plans, and other student-support initiatives.
• Assist with crisis intervention and referrals to community resources.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines.

Requirements

• Must possess, or be able to acquire by time of appointment, a valid Nevada Department of Education teaching license with a school-counseling endorsement.
• Certification in the relevant subject area (school counseling).
• Meet minimum qualifications as listed on the position vacancy announcement.
