Job Summary
This is a paid position. The Student Councilor for the Youth Theater program plays a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all participants. This position involves collaborating with theater Directors and staff to support the artistic vision of productions. Responsibilities include mentoring theater students in their theatrical pursuits, monitoring and engaging students when they are not rehearsing, facilitating discussions, and helping with specific side workshops or specific skills as directed by production Director. The Student Councilor will also help promote events and encourage participation. Ideal candidates should possess strong leadership skills, a passion for the performing arts, and a commitment to creating a supportive community where creativity and self-expression can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage theater students.
- Monitor theater students and assist the program Director as needed.
- Assist Director with scene run throughs, basic theater skills, line rehearsal, and other side workshops.
- Chaperone students inside the facility as needed.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student engagement and growth.
