Youth Theater Student Councilor (part time)

About the role

The Youth Theater Student Councilor is a part-time position at Ji-Eun Lee Music Academy, dedicated to supporting the artistic vision of theater productions and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for students.

Responsibilities

• Mentor theater students in their theatrical pursuits.
• Monitor and engage students when they are not rehearsing.
• Facilitate discussions and help with specific side workshops or skills as directed by the production director.
• Help promote events and encourage participation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in music, music education, or related field.
• Availability to teach at least 8 hours per week; two evenings a week minimum, but more preferred; core hours 4pm to 8pm.
• Strong musical ability, with proven skills on your instrument.
• Previous experience as a music teacher preferred.
• Strong motivational skills.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as a music teacher preferred.
• Fluent sight-reading.
• Patience, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to teach online/virtual lessons.
