About the role

The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony seeks a Full-Time Youth Mentor Program Assistant to work closely with young people, contributing to a customer-focused culture that values integrity and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations, including managing phone communications, data entry, and processing program paperwork.
  • Aid in planning and implementing engaging activities for youth groups.
  • Attend meetings and events to foster a sense of community.
  • Contribute to research focused on youth outreach, prevention, and civic engagement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance youth involvement in various programs.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in youth programming preferred.
  • Willingness to attend program meetings, classes, activities, and conferences.
  • Ability to be a positive role model for youth and support youth as leaders in their community.
  • Proficiency in preparing written reports and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Computer proficiency, including audio manipulation, photo editing (Photoshop, Publisher, Adobe), and social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram).
  • A valid driver’s license, ability to be bonded, and passing a security background check and drug test.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred experience working with youth and youth programming.
  • Willingness to attend program meetings, classes, activities, and conferences.
  • Ability to be a positive role model for youth and support youth as leaders in their community.
  • Proficiency in preparing written reports and making presentations to various audiences.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer with various programs.
  • Experience with audio manipulation software.
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram).
  • Experience with photo documentation and maintaining computer records and data.
  • A valid driver’s license able to be bonded.

Pay

The expected pay for this role ranges from $15.71 to $19.32 per hour, depending on experience, reflecting our commitment to recognizing your contributions.
