Yacht Rigging Technician

About the role

The Yacht Rigging Technician is responsible for the repairs and rigging of yachts, providing service and maintenance to new and used yacht inventory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare yachts for presentation and delivery to customers.
• Properly attach components to yachts that the manufacturer did not assemble.
• Examine yachts and discuss the nature and extent of repair or malfunction with the service advisor or customer.
• Ensure yachts are in safe and working order.
• Install optional equipment and electronics.
• Troubleshoot and verify the working order of electronics, systems, and engines.
• Perform light-duty tasks such as changing oil filters, general service, and warranty repairs.
• Ensure all warranty work is completed according to manufacturer’s and MarineMax guidelines.
• Provide proper documentation, including labor tickets and work order updates with descriptions of work performed.
• Complete repair work utilizing the service scheduler and SSO’s within the established timeframe.
• Communicate with service advisors and/or the parts department to obtain necessary parts and supplies in a timely manner.
• Conduct maintenance checks and repairs as described in the maintenance program professionally and promptly.
• Set up and participate in boat shows and other off-site promotional events.
• Perform all work in a safe and clean manner, leaving the boat in top condition.
• Maintain a professional and clean facility and showroom conducive to selling.
• Maintain MarineMax tools and equipment in good condition according to established guidelines.
• Available to work additional hours when necessary.
• Travel to additional locations when necessary to maintain inventory.
• Project a knowledgeable and professional image at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.
