XMT Product Owner (IFMC)

About the Role

MDR is seeking a highly skilled Experience Modernization Team (XMT) Product Owner (PO) to define and deliver NexGen Air and Missile Defense Product Solutions. Operating at the intersection of user research, design, and mission context, the XMT ensures the right solutions are built by grounding every product decision in a deep, holistic understanding of real warfighter needs. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical execution and program strategy, driving the suitability of experimental capabilities for implementation into the IBCS program.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize user research, studies, and suitability evaluations in coordination with Program Management for PIs and sprints
• Deliver technical briefings and demonstrations to leadership, offering Courses of Action (COAs) and impact analysis
• Assist with the technical roadmap for implementation and integration of efforts based on maturity and suitability of design
• Serve as a bridge between PAE Fires stakeholders, Users, and the Experience Modernization Team
• Communicate with leadership when products are ready to push into the development process

Qualifications

• Be a US citizen
• Have a bachelor's degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics
• Have a minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above
• Proficiency with the Atlassian toolset (Jira/Confluence) for backlog management and the Microsoft Office toolset for professional deliverables

Skills

• Good understanding of engineering practices within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Experience with user research and UX/UI design
• Highly desirable: Experience leading user-centered design practices, including design of experiments, collection methods, and post-analysis

Additional Qualifications

• Knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS is a plus
• Prior experience as a Product Owner of a SW development SCRUM team is a plus
